just got back from the brooklyn museum of art. this painting is part of a larger rockwell exhibition. god i love living here.

considering that i am considering specializing in realistic-ish oil paintings as my primary illustration style, seeing these works in person was both incredibly inspiring and made me want to bash my head against the wall. i don’t care for his stylization a lot of the time, but HOLY SHIT his technique. how.
